CIEN Network and Partners

Status

The CIEN Project began in 2000 with pilot training workshops in four African nations: Côte d'Ivoire, Mali, Nigeria, and Tanzania. Since then, training workshops have been held in an additional 39 countries in Africa, Central America and Mexico, for a total of 43 as of early 2006.

In addition to national workshops, a regional workshop was also held in Yaounde, Cameroon (15-19 May 2004) on the use of ESTIS to create an Internet portal for the national CIEN and to create the base of a regional CIEN.
